PLAYA DE LA LANZADA, Pontevedra – Galicia/Spain (Thursday, February 27, 2014) - ASP Europe is pleased to announce the confirmation of the ASP 1-Star Rias Baixas Pro, as the first Qualification Series on the Old Continent in 2014. Stepping up from the Pro Junior event hosted at this exciting new location last year, organizers have decided to convene Europe's best surfers from April 10-13, 2014.
The most Western tip of Spain and a World-famous region for the Catholic pilgrimage of Santiago De Compostella, Galicia is also one of the most exposed coastlines of Europe, receiving swells from all directions and offering several options depending on swell, wind and tides.
“ASP Europe are very pleased to be returning to Pontevedra for the Rias Baixas Pro this coming April,†Rob Gunning, ASP European Tour Manager stated. “The fact that it has upgraded to a QS event is fantastic for our regional surfers looking for qualification points on the rankings. Last year the set up and installations were first class and I am sure that with the work the event organizers are doing we are in line for yet another spectacular event. The 2014 Rias Baixas Pro is scheduled from April 10-13, 2014 at Playa de la lanzada, Pontevedra - Galicia/Spain.
