It was moving day at the Vans US Open of Surfing, as more subtropical weather made for glassy conditions in the water and hot and sticky heat on the beach. Things are heating up in the chase for the 2017 Women's Championship Title, too, with the top two rated surfers moving into the Quarterfinals along with a number of surfers well out of Title contention, but now playing their part in potentially crucial spoiler roles. On the Men's side, CT surfers continued to slay qualification dreams in the Round of 96. With the No. 2- and No. 3-ranked Qualifying Series surfers now out of the draw, the QS leaderboard is destined to look very different than it did less than a week ago.
