New Zealand powerhouse Ricardo Christie came out swinging in the Hawaiian Pro, as he hacked his way to a solid 18-point heat total during Round One. Ricardo pushed his sturdy frame through a series of massive carves on this wave to earn a massive 9.67. Although he fell off the Championship Tour after his rookie season in 2015, his performance today at Haleiwa showed why he deserves a spot on the elite stage. Unfortunately, his low QS rank (No. 66 ) may keep him outside the CT qualification picture for 2017. Still, with nothing to lose, he won't hesitate to go on Triple Crown tear.
