Christie earned a 9.07 in Round 3 at the 2014 Vans World Cup in a last push to qualify for the 2015 Championship Tour. His efforts -- plus a little luck -- paid off.
Faces of 2015 is a series on this year's new and returning Championship Tour (CT) athletes. Kiwi Ricardo Christie qualified for the Tour by the skin of his teeth, when CT surfers Jadson Andre (BRA) and Julian Wilson (AUS) requalified with their elite rankings. The room they left on the Qualifying Series (QS) meant that Christie, who finished at No. 16 on the QS standings, was the last to make the cut. Get to know the emerging pro before his elite Tour debut at the Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast, which runs Feb. 28 to March 11.
