Competitors in the Maxum ASP Women's Pro Junior and the NRMA Women's Surf Classic are counting down the days until the dual events kick off in Cronulla from Saturday, September 20 to Sunday September 21.
2013 Maxum ASP Women's Pro Junior runner-up Keely Andrew from the Sunshine Coast, Qld, is making a return to the elite ASP Australasia Pro Junior Qualifying Series (JQS) event with an eye to go one step further in 2014.
“We scored really good waves last year and the feeling of being in the final has definitely lifted my confidence going into this year's event,†said Andrew. “My goal this year is to hopefully qualify for the World Junior Championships later in the year, so there's a fair bit on the line in this event.â€

“Maxum actually came onboard as one of my sponsors after last year's event and they've been great to me," she said. "It was one of my personal highlights from last year.â€
The Maxum ASP Women's Pro Junior will have $2000 prizemoney on offer and vital ASP Pro Junior Series rankings points for surfers vying to qualify for the ASP World Junior Championships in Ericeira, Portugal from October 25 - November 2.
In addition to the ASP Australasia JQS event, the NRMA Women's Surf Classic will see some of Australia's best female surfers participating in a variety of different surfing disciplines including junior and open longboard, shortboard, and stand-up paddleboard.
Tradies will host a Women In Surf Sports Dinner on the eve of the event at Elouera Surf Club. The dinner will feature an array of guest speakers and will also serve as the launch of the official ASP Australasia Pro JQS event.
The two-day event is also set to encompass a large variety of stalls from local businesses and nationally recognized brands.
