ALA MOANA BOWLS, O‘ahu, Hawaiʻi (Monday, May 19, 2025) - The pinnacle of the World Surf League (WSL) Hawaiʻi/Tahiti Nui' Longboard Qualifying Series (LQS) 2024/2025 season is set for the Local Motion Surf Into Summer At Home In The Hawaiian Islands. Some of the region's best longboarders are back to contest for the event's title for a third straight year. This event marks the final event of the 2024/2025 season to determine who qualifies for the 2025 WSL Longboard Tour.

"Thanks to the continued partnership of Local Motion and the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority, we're excited to return to Ala Moana Bowls for the conclusion of our Regional LQS season," said Robin Erb, WSL VP, Tours & Events. "This iconic venue has produced some incredible performances these past years, and I can't wait to see what our incredibly talented regional athletes are able to achieve next month with World Longboard Tour qualification on the line."

The Local Motion Surf Into Summer At Home In The Hawaiian Islands is back to determine who qualifies for the 2025 WSL Longboard Tour.

Hawaiʻi's Top Amateur and Pro Event Returns

The long-standing legacy of the Local Motion Surf Into Summer has provided the islands' emerging talents with an opportunity to put on the jersey at one of O‘ahu's premier lineups, Ala Moana Bowls. Since 2023, Local Motion and the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority (HTA) continue to provide a pivotal stop for the region's top longboarders alongside the amateur event.

Region's Top Longboarders Ready to Take on Ala Moana Bowls

The shortlist of event victors encompasses two World Longboard Titles and two World Longboard Title runner-ups. 2024 Local Motion Surf Into Summer winners, Kelis Kaleopaʻa (HAW) and Kaniela Stewart (HAW), retained the event titles for South Shore's iconic Waikīkī. Following The Hawaiian Islands HIC Haleiwa Pro, Sive Jarrard (ASM) and 2023 WSL Longboard Champion Kai Sallas (HAW), enter the Ala Moana Bowls arena No. 1.
