805 Beer Authentico, Lakey Peterson, joins the Cold Beer Surf Club. After just barely missing the cut on the CT this year, Lakey cruised up to WSL HQ in El Segundo, CA to catch up with Conner. They reflect on growing up in the 805 and Lakey's decision to move down to San Clemente. They reminisce on their NSSA days, and froth over Lakey's pivotal frontside air to win the National Championships at Trestles in 2014, to working with Carissa Moore and Coco Ho in Nike's celebrated film Leave A Message. They discuss how much the level on the women's side has increased, even on the Challenger Series, and how that inspires Lakey to keep up. She talks about how even after 12 years on tour, she still feels like she has so much more to give, and wants to keep pursuing a World Title. She and Conner share stories about working with Glenn "Micro" Hall, and how much his coaching and mentorship has helped them both on and off the tour. They talk about Pipeline experiences, injuries, splitting her time between San Clemente, Santa Barbara and Bells Beach, what's next for her in her surf career, and her advice for young groms.
