The wait paid off with competition returning to the End of the Road in pumping conditions delivering another momentous chapter in women's surfing history. Vahine Fierro's incredible form was not to be outmatched as she became the first Tahitian wildcard to win the event, besting now World No. 1 Brisa Hennessy. Fierro's crazy Semifinal with Tatiana Weston-Webb will go down as arguably the best women's heat of all time. Following that historic moment, the men's Elimination Round ensued with marquee matchups unfolding to set up a Finals Day of their own. A bout between Ramzi Boukhiam and Liam O'Brien followed the rookie Cole Houshmand posting a near-perfect score on a Tahitian keg. Closing out the day with fellow rookie Crosby Colapinto taking the win over friend Seth Moniz.
