Anglet, France (Wednesday, September 16, 2020) - As pro surfing continues its triumphant return globally with The WSL Countdown, the land of croissants, wine and cheese readies for its own share of exciting action in the lineup. We're only a week away from the start of the French Rendez-Vous of Surfing - Men's, Stop No.1 in the Euro Cup of Surfing that lands in Anglet, France from September 23-25.
24 surfers, 12 men and 12 women, will take it to the Chambre d'Amour fun beach breaks for a broadcast-only show that promises high-octane action for the first time in months on the French Atlantic coastline.
While forecasts are still a little hazy a week away from the first day of the event's waiting period, the North Atlantic has been quite generous with swells lately and the colder mornings have blown offshore winds on tap for some memorable sessions in the French Southwest.
Unfortunately fans will not be allowed on-site due to local COVID-19 restrictions but the video production will bring the audience right in to all the action.
The event will be webcast LIVE on worldsurfleague.com, the WSL app and Facebook page as well as lequipe.fr and Fuel TV.
A full media package will be produced and distributed to the press, action and lifestyle stills and videos will be available on demand and one-on-one interviews with athletes can be arranged through the regional media manager over skype.
Anglet: Epic Breaks and a Rich History of Surfing
The town of Anglet boasts some 4.5km of sandy patch making up 11 different beaches and an incredible variety of peaks along the stretch. The numerous breakwalls help shape sand banks and shelter from the wind to produce beautiful waves for all skill levels.

The Anglet Surf Avenue is also a big hit with surfers and tourists as the walk of fame displays footprints of some of the legends of our sport: Kelly Slater, Mick Fanning, Kai Lenny, Nat Young among others and more will be added next week!
