"The clip was all filmed mostly during February, just before I went to Australia," Frederico Morais told the WSL about his new edit called, "My Place". "We had some sick swells and it was great to hunt the whole coast and get a clip together."
Morais then flew to Australia, readying himself for a return to the CT. The 28-year-old dropped off in 2018, but stormed back last year finishing the year as No.1 on the QS.
"We had a great training block on the Gold Coast in March with my coach Dog Marsh and Leo Fioravanti and Nikki Van Dijk," said Morais. "I had a new batch of boards off JS which felt amazing. I just felt great and was so pumped to get back on the CT."

However with the COVID-19 outbreak and the cancellation of the Australian leg, Morais returned home to Cascais. He had one surf at his local before Portugal introduced new quarantine measures and all the beaches were closed.
"It's frustrating not being able to surf or compete," admits Fred, "but we are all on the same page and in the greater scheme of things there are way more important things than the Tour. We just have to wait it out and try and come back stronger."
One benefit from the downtime was that he could concentrate on his new edit. It's an absolute banger featuring Morais' trademark power hacks, but also some big aerials and crazy footage from a lefthand slab.
"I was working on my airs and my backhand barrel riding, so it was good to have the waves for that to include in the clip," says Morais. "And we scored that left, which is the biggest and heaviest waves I've ever had at home. Hopefully when we all get back in the water, I can return to where I left off."
