Hailing from the paradisiacal island of Reunion in the Indian Ocean, 22 year-old regular foot Alice Lemoigne has been dominating the longboard scene in Europe for years, but has set her sights as high as it gets, on the World Longboard Title.
A multiple event winner, Lemoigne has already claimed the European Longboard title four times and his on her way to become the most successful longboarder in the region. She also claimed the amateur World Champion title in Biarritz earlier this year but she's yet to assert her domination at the highest level.
With a good, equal 5th place in Noosa in March, and three more events counting in the 2019 World Longboard Title race, could this year be it?

She sure left not stone unturned in her opening heat at the Boardmasters Longboard Pro, dominating with an incredible 14.84 total which included an excellent 8.17 for the kind of smooth and technical nose riding that's been her trademark moves.
"I'm super happy to be back here," she said. "I didn't initially plan to come and compete here this year but I've come to realize that the European title is very important to me and I really want to try to win it again. Conditions were small and fun today, very fun on a longboard."
As the last event before the Galicia Longboard Classic, this week is the confidence-builder Alice Lemoigne needs to keep the ball rolling in her bid to become the first Reunion Island World Champion on the WSL longboard tour.
"My season so far has been incredible with that world title in Biarritz," she continued. "I placed third in a big international event after that and now my focus turns on the remaining WSL events, to try to secure the European title and hopefully go all the way as well on the international stage!"

The rest of the competition saw the final four heats of the Roxy Open completed this morning, as well as Round 2 of the men's longboard. The Quiksilver Open will likely resume tomorrow, Friday August 9.
Surfers will be back at 8:45a.m Friday for the next call of the QS action and men longboard. Female longboarders will wait until Sunday for their finals.
