With 2019 rookie Mikey Wright pulling out of this year's Margaret River Pro due to an ongoing back injury, Frederico Morais will act as his replacement and get his chance to compete on the CT once again when the event gets underway.
There are currently three competition venues: Margaret River Main Break, the event's primary site, as well as back-up sites, The Box and North Point. The first call will be tomorrow morning at 7:10 a.m. AWST for a possible 7:30 a.m. start at Main Break.
Currently sitting in 5th place on the 2019 Qualifying Series (QS), Jack Robinson is the highest placing West Australian on the QS and will receive the WSL wildcard into the Margaret River Pro.

Jack Robinson, who has been a standout at North Point since he was a kid, had everyone's attention last year when he got the call up to the main event. While he has surfed in Championship Tour events before, it wasn't until last year that Robinson was able to generate a memorable result. In Round 1 he earned an 8.27 to overthrow both Owen Wright and Miguel Pupo.
Due to flight complications, Robinson will miss his Seeding Round heat but is set to compete in the following Elimination Round.
The local trials were taken out by Jacob Willcox, who will be making his 3rd CT appearance this year, and Mia McCarthy in solid conditions at Main Break.

Local Mia McCarthy graduated from Margaret River High School and is a member of the Margaret River Boardriders Club.
"Margaret River is so good," said McCarthy. "We get waves here everyday. I feel so lucky to live in a place like this."
McCarthy will take on Coco Ho and Stephanie Gilmore in the Seeding Round. Jacob Willcox will be up against Gabriel Medina and Deivid Silva.

The event window will kick off tomorrow -- May 29 -- and hold through June 9. Surfers arrived in West Oz only a few days after completing the previous CT event in Bali. Luckily the forecast looks promising for the first week of the waiting period with solid 4-6 foot conditions on tap for tomorrow.
