Kailani Johnson has just made League history, nabbing the Wildcard for the Corona Bali Protected as the first Indonesian woman to compete in a Championship Tour event.
"This is a dream come true!" responded Kailani over email. "To say I look forward to surfing with the people I look up to at one of my favorite home-breaks is an understatement."
Coming off a ninth-place finish at the Krui Pro, Johnson was awarded the Wildcard as the highest-ranked Indonesian surfer competing in the 2019 Qualifying Series.

The powerful Balinese goofyfooter is known for her approach while surfing backhand, which will definitely come into play as she faces defending World Champ Stephanie Gilmore and Nikki Van Dijk in the Seeding Round at Keramas.
"It's important for us to support women in these local communities," says Jessi Miley-Dyer from WSL Tours and Competitions. "And it's exciting to give the chance to someone like Kailana to shine in her hometown."
