Aspiring professional surfers will go hell-for-leather when the 2018 Hydralyte Sports Shoalhaven Pro Junior - event five on the Australasian World Surf League (WSL) Junior Qualifying Series (JQS) - kicks off tomorrow.

The elite three-day event will run from 25 - 27 May 2018 and feature the best junior surfers from around the country as they attempt to seal themselves a spot in the World Junior Championship.
After taking out the Key Sun Zinke Pro Junior in Manly back in February, Caleb Tancred (Avoca) is eager to cement himself a higher spot in the rankings as he attempts to qualify for the upcoming 2018 World Junior Championship.

"Winning the Key Sun Zinke Pro Junior at Manly was one of the biggest wins I've ever had," said Tancred. "I set myself the goal of qualifying for the World Juniors and I hope I can cement a higher spot on the rankings when the Pro Junior event kicks off."
Stepping up their already impressive investment into junior surfing, Hydralyte has come onboard as the naming-rights sponsor. The event in Shoalhaven will join the Hydralyte Sports Pro Junior on the Gold Coast, Cronulla and Bells Beach on an action-packed 2018 schedule for junior surfers.
