The race for the women's World Title took another dramatic turn Sunday with Tyler Wright's surprise surge continuing at the Roxy Pro France despite the much talked about damage to her knee. Suddenly, word of Wright's pending demise seems like a brilliant plot planted by her team to lure her competitors into a false sense of safety, because she looked as solid today as she has all season. Today, Wright blitzed into the Semifinals with two strong wins, putting the No. 3 surfer right back in the Title mix. She just gained ground on Courtney Conlogue, who lost to Lakey Peterson in the Quarterfinals. Wright is now in hot pursuit of Jeep Leader Sally Fitzgibbons, who will be surfing in the first Semifinal against Carissa Moore when competition resumes.
In case that all sounds a bit confusing, just watch the Post Show report, as Peter Mel, Rosy Hodge and Ronnie Blakey distill it all down.
