It didn't take long for the pressure to spike at the Roxy Pro France. On Saturday in Hossegor, dreamy beachbreak conditions inspired some great performances throughout the first two rounds. Tyler Wright surprised everyone by coming out guns blazing, knee injury and all. Carissa Moore and Stephanie Gilmore responded with solid surfing of their own. While frontrunners Sally Fitzgibbons and Courtney Conlogue advanced as well, Portugal winner Nikki Van Dijk and US Open Champion Sage Erickson were both defeated in Round Two upsets.
