The women got their crack at the Saquarema lineup on Tuesday afternoon, just as a fresh push of tide was making conditions tricky. That didn't bother the standouts though, as the peaky conditions had plenty to offer. While favorites like Carissa Moore, Steph Gilmore and Tyler Wright struggled to find their form, Coco Ho, Courtney Conlogue and Sage Erickson put in strong performances. But today's top performer was Johanne Defay of France, who put her vicious backhand attack on full display for the fans who hung out to watch the last heat of the day.
