California's Brett Simpson and Portugal's Frederico Morais took full advantage of firing conditions at Haleiwa in one of the highest-scoring battles of day three. Both regularfoots went to work on their rail, each posting massive 9-point rides. In the end though, Frederico's solid 8-point backup score secured the win. Both he and Brett moved on to Round Three.
