The second event on the 2014 / 15 Billabong Junior Series presented by BOS was completed in excellent one metre waves at Magnatubes in Jeffreys Bay on Thursday with Eithan Osborne (USA) clinching the prestigious men's title.
Osborne, who is in Jeffreys Bay along with half-a-dozen other international surfers on a sponsors training camp, is based in Ventura, California, and had no problem adjusting to the waves of Magnatubes en route to his victory.
"The waves that I surf at home are similar - right points and some beach breaks - so it hasn't been too difficult to adjust to this," Osborne said.
The American defeated Jeffreys Bay local Dylan Lightfoot in the final after brushing off the challenge of fellow American Griffin Colapinto in their Semifinal match up and local standout Matt McGillivray (Jeffreys Bay) in the Quarters
Lightfoot's path to the Final saw him post wins over Jordy Maree (ZAF, Kalk Bay) in their Semifinal duel after ousting Bevan Willis in the last eight.
The event enjoyed four days of great surf at Magnatubes, which was being used as a contest venue for a WSL rated event for the first time.
