World Champion Gabriel Medina (BRA) needed a mid-range score to take the lead from WSL wildcard Glenn Hall (IRL) when he appeared to force priority but got too close. Medina was called for interference, a fatal mistake during an elimination heat. The call ended his run at the 2015 Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast.
